Like many I like to stay on top of the news, but I wanted to do it in a Bluesky way, so I created https://news.stonking.com/ which has now become part of a bigger AT Proto project.

It works by tracking news links that get posted to Bluesky, along with engagement, and has a proprietary algorithm to rank it.

The algorithm ensures that high engagement news is sticky, but fresh trending news also shows up.

The app let's you repost to Bluesky and also has a button that takes you to a Bluesky search of the link, so you can see posts of that news link from every Bluesky account that posted it, and engage with them.
